Accidents Make the Heart Grow Fonder! |
"Dad, I've been in an accident... " (in the car that only had liability and not collision)
The good news...
Only the car was hurt... and father/son relationship grows...
Again, GOOD wins... BAD looses...
Heb 10:32,35-39 (NIV) ... in the face of suffering... do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For in just a little while, "He who is coming will come and will not delay. But my righteous one will live by faith. And if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him." But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved.
PHYSICAL UPDATE:
Please pray that OHSU decision makers again reconsider to allow my DBS surgery... they have denied twice now. Here is an excerpt from the letter I sent today at 5pm:
"My persistence in asking Dr. Burchiel to again reconsider may be annoying, or even appear silly... but for my wife and young children still under my care... it is essential that I try to stick around a little longer on this earth. They are rapidly loosing a devoted husband and father. Please, Dr. Burchiel, please reconsider."
"Every tomorrow has two handles. We can take hold of it with the handle of anxiety or the handle of faith." ~ Henry Ward Beecher
"Anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows, but only empties today of its strength." ~ Charles Spurgeon
"Joy is that deep settled confidence that God is in control of every area of my life." Paul Sailhamer.
"The beginning of anxiety is the end of faith, and the beginning of true faith is the end of anxiety." ~ George Mueller
Sorry about your car and happy that your father/son relationship is growing. Love the quotes on anxiety and am praying God to move upon the board. May God move that mountain into the sea!
ReplyDeleteYes, praying for a change of heart of the doc! Thanks for the quotes.. definitely ones to memorize.
ReplyDeleteSo good to hear that you are still fighting. Like the widow and the judge. Eventually he just might give in... We're still praying on this end that God will soften the Dr's heart and that He will reveal Himself in the process.
